OHA MEETS WITH ANA COMMISSIONER

Lillian Sparks, Commissioner of the Administration for Native Americans, met with OHA Trustees, Executives and Staff Oct. 1 3, for the first time since she stepped into the Ohama administration post earlier this year. Sparks discussed progress at the nahonal level and OHA shared updates on its Mālama Loan Program, whieh, together with funding from ANA, helps Native Hawaiians with business, home improvement and education. Hearing about how the Mālama Loan helped Native Hawaiian entrepreneur Keola Rapozo get his business Fitted Hawai'i on its feet, Sparks called it an "awesome story" that "re-energized her ouhook to get more funding for Native peoples."
