Death of Mr. Philip Opfergelt.

Mr. Philip OpfergeIt a member of the well known fir n of Hotfschlager Co. of this city, died in Stockton, Cal. The deceased gentleman who «as well and favorab!y known in our eommnnity had resided in Honolniu for a goodly nuraber of years. He was at one lime a Colonei on the statf of King Kalakaua of whom he waa a personal friend. For soroe time the decease<l gentleman had been ailing and when ho departed frora here a few montbs ago his friends entertained littie hope of his recovery. Mr. Philip Opfergelt married a daoghter of Profe--sor F L Clatke at one time editor of the P, C. Advertiser. The stores of Hotfschl <ger <k Co. were closed to-day out of respect U» the deceased.
