Keoua began the battle of Mokuohai by cutting down coconut trees here. (See also Hauiki.) Keaweopala and Kalaniopuu also fought here. Claim no. 7294:3 by Kaelemakule is for his "kihapai kalo ma Keomo." Also claim no. 7218:2 by Kaneapua, no. 7009:2 by Kaolopana. Claim no. 9652C:8 by Makaiahai is for a "Pahale ili o Keomo ma Keei 2 ahup." Also no. 7098:3 by Kahaia for his pahale. (Neither was awarded. Reinecke's sites 15,16,17 may include them.)
