A Narrow Escape.

| Tbe stewardess of the Arawa received a cold batb last evening by falling into tbe barbor while trving to get on to the wharf from a boat in whieh gho had been rowing around tbe harbor. A lady-corapanion of ber who knew tbat the stewardesscouldn t i swim. jumped out after her and both women were finally rescued by Port Surveyor Sanders and Cuptain Sbeperd. If the assistauce badn’t been prompt tbe prospects are that the woman wouKl have drowned. She was none the worse for tho ducking.
