Joly 24 !89 L In*’Pnddenhead Wilson’? Philosophy" Mark Twain says: ‘*Pnt ali of your eggs in one basket — ’ aud watch that basket.’’ Eggs are not the only things to whieh this applies, we ean make it fit stoves and cbange eggs into do!lars and make it read—Invest your eoin in a Pansy Stove —and the stove will watcb itself. We have been watcbing these stoves for the past five years. and find them the best iron stove sold in this market for tbe money, Wbere else than at onr store ean 1 you get a stove that will do everything that a 150 stove will doand get it for $15? Eeho answers, ‘the plaee isn’t built.’ We have sold hnndreds of these stoves in Honolulu. and never had a eomplaint. Two weeks ago, we so!d one to a Hawaii, and yesterday he ordered anothcr for a friend. The stove sells itself through its fuel saving qualities, and because. it is a good baker. You ean get other styles of stoves if you are not particnlar as to the quantity of fuel yOu burn or how yonr food is cooked. There’s no dys- j pepsia in mea!s prepareil on a i PANSY. We received last week a lot of wire clothes-lines that hold washed clothes without nsing pins. It is a sort of double wiro arrangement and tbe pieces are held in between;the harder the wind blows the tighter the pieces are held to the line. There is absolutely no danger of the clothing being torn as there is nothing sharp abont the line. While the cost is a trifle greater than rope, this new style will last so mneh longer that it is eeonomieal to buy the pinless line. The CLAUSS is one of the new fangled saw-edge knives that cuts warm bread without leaving it beavy and iced eake without making crnmbs There are two or three diflerent makes of these knives, all on the same principle and eaeh one prononnced the best on earth by the manufacturers. We selected the Clauss, whieh we believe as a disinterosted spectator to be better than its neighbors. Yon never had anything in yonr life that give as moeh satisfaction for a dollar. If you were bnying the other sort you would get only one. The favorite sewing maehine in any community is the one that ; does the most for the le*st money ' and whieh ruus tbe easiest. In tbe “Wertheim” you have a ’ maehine that sews three distinct stitches—The Loek, Chain and Embroidery and runs easier than any other maehine, and you pay twenty dollars less for it. Eeonomy stands boldly every side when you bny a Wertheim. In > tncking the ehain stitch is preferable, but in other kinds of work. the loek stitch is tbe best. lf you buy a maehine that sews the loek, nnless it is a Wertheim. it won t sew a ehain stitch. Tbere’s no particnlar saving in bnying a maehine with bot one stitch, the Wertheim does three i j and saves yon lots of trooble and ■ work. i We’ve jost unpacked six casks ■ of stand lampstbat were built for • hard times. They have metal ; bases and are decorated so as to ’ make a very neat appearance in a ! room. We don’t tbink you ean j get as good a lamp any where else , for tbe money, try as hard as you j please. j 1 Oor stock of table cntlery, , spoons and forks is as large as j yon will find in any store in San ' Francisco, andour prices eompaie I favorably with those in New York. i !
