Miss H len Kahaleahu is at present visiting friends in Paiama. Judge Geo. D. Gear is expected to return from the Coast on January IS. Friends in this city have received the announcement of the engagement of Miss Hazel Lewis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. T. Lewis of Hilo. The joung lady is soon to wed Clarence Robinson of I-*ng Island. Miss Maud Kinney very narrowly escaped serious injury on Sunday by falling as she was a ighting from a carriage at Waikiki. As it was she received a cut under her chia which was promptly attended to by Dr. Wood who repaired the damage with a few stitches.
