SCHLEY APPEALS TO THE PRESIDENT

WASHINGTON. Jan. T—The cbloct of Admiral Schley's visit to theWhite House yesterday was to request the F resident to consider an appeal for"the reversal of the action f 'of Secretary Long and the disapproval of the majority judgment of the court of inquiry. The interview was satisfactory, the President granting th Admiral's request. Admiral Schley was given an opportunity to present th case from his standpoint, and to acquaint the President with many details with which the latter could have no knowledge.
