Ball Keeps Vacillating. The ball kept vacillating up and down the field for quite a while, Williamson doing good work by passing the ball do\\n towards the Mailes’ goal. His playing was very fast, but no goals were made by it as he was liable to lose control of the ball. A foul throw out on the Malles’ part gave the Wanderers a free kick. The bail was kicked very near the Wanderers’ goal but passed by. The Mailes gained corners twice la succession. Craik kicked the bail f*om the comer and placed it well right in front of the goal, where a lively scrimmage took place, which resulted in Boyle’s making a successful shot f for goal, thus scoring the third goal j for the Maile Ilimas. Fifth Goa! for Mailes. The Wanderers brought the ball up | near the Mailes’ goal, but last it. Len | Qui made a good kick for the Wander- 1 ers’ goal, but the ball was caught by; Goalkeeper Notley. lansdale made kick for the Wanderers’ goal but miss- j •*d it. There was some lively playing j in front of the Wanderers’ goal. Cockbum missed the ball, which was secured by Boyle, who sent it through ; the Wanderers’ goal, making the ] fourth goal for the Maile Ilimas. Blackman carried the ball w ell up j towards the Mailes’ goal. He made a[ fine pass to Kerr, who brought it still | nearer. Simpson kicked for the Malles’ goal but missed it. The Maile Ilimas gained a corner. Craik kicked the ball, which went by the Wanderers’ goal. There was some exciting playing some little distance from the Wanderers’ goal. Boyle secured the ball and suddenly kicked for the Wander- j i r»’ / goal. It was missed by Goalkeeper Notley, and simply rolled through, thus making the fifth goal in the Malles’ favor. Although the Wanderers were plain I;, outclassed by the Maile llima team they put up a better game than one should judge from the size of the score. Williamson and Blackman, who played forwards for the Wanderers, put up a good and fast game, and Simpson also did good work. Usborne did well as full back and. although many goals were made by the Mailes. goalkeeper, Notley must be said to have put up a god game as he saved his goal a number of times.
