HAWAIIAN STUDIES PROGRAM

The study of Hawaii and native Hawaiians is one of the University of Hawaii's areas of emphasis on the Manoa campus (Honolulu). A B.A. degree may be earned in Hawaiian Studies under the auspices of the Hawaiian Studies Program. The Manoa campus offers a wide range of classes from which students may select their Hawaiirelated course work in order to develop understanding, appreciation, and the ability to participate in the perpetuation of Hawaiian traditions. The Hawaiian Studies major will help prepare students for further fields of education, social work, anthropology, sociology. Pacific Islands studies, museology. or tourism.
