On Saturday, February 16th, family, friends> former co-workers and students honored ADELINE NANIMAUNUPAU LEE at a "surprise" 'Aha'aina at the Kukui ballroom of the Hawaiian Regent Hotel. She had worked for the City and County of Honolulu, Department of Parks and Recreation for twenty-five years, under such notables as Aliee Namakelua» Ted Nobriga, Ethe! Mori, and Aina Keawe. And she used her knowledge gained from teachers like Helen Baker, Winona Beamer, Mary Kawena Pukui, T6m Hiona and her father Thomas Kanariiokeaupunimalamal£ma Maunupau, to heip in the Hawaiiana unit of the Department, The € aha € aina was done qulte well with Leolani Pratt, aco-worker asmistressof ceremony andentertainment providedbya fcrmer student, Kimo Alama. She was honored with an original sqng Qomposed by Hannah Kaneakua and a special gift, a quilt of the Hawaiian Flag, by Aina Kekoolani Keawe, her former director.
