The American Weekly An air liner that will cross the Atlantic in less than a day, carrying 1,500 passengers, has beex\ det>igned by British engineers. The new ship will v have a wing span of 600 feet, and will be 335 f§et in length. Besides the 1,500 gassengers, there wlll be accommodatii>ns for .450 tons of freight and fuel. Space will aiso be,provided for one or more amall airplanes within' the hull, and a catapult for laūnchii)g them. will be take„rt on board for the flight, so that passengers may have their machiiies when reaching the other side. There will be 12 huge engines, developing a total of 100,000 horsepower. eaeh engine driying a 50-foot propeller. x ln the wings, where are located the passenger compartments, wiE be found two decks and the pUot and control room. In the construction ol the double hulls wiU be found five other decics, for use of the crew, freight, mail, fuel, the storage of automobiles, and the anchors ana hoisting gearing.
