Interior Propeller for Tug-More Power Popular Mechanics

Fitted with an interior propeller, a new tugboat has beeri found faster and less cost!y tp operate than similiar craft equipped with the conventional screw placed directly before the rudder. The interior blades are lfyrp.ted inside and well toward the center of the hull, where they work in two convergihg strearas of water drawn in from eacfi side at a siight angle through inlet ports located well forwaxd. The two streanis meet exactly where the propeller gets the strongest "bite" at the water, sending it out in one stream through tlie discharge port at the stern.
