Kuokoa Home Rula, Volume VII, Number 30, 23 July 1909 — THEY AGREED TO DISAGREE. [ARTICLE]

THEY AGREED TO DISAGREE.

The above perhaps is a very disagreeable heading for this item of ours; but, see whether it agrees and suits with the content>s Twelve men selected to hear the Japanese riot case. They all agreed to try the men on the full merits of the case as presented to them, pro and eon. If all agree for the pro, then the progecution will have it; but in case, all agreed for eon, then, the contrary side will have it. Yet the twelve men did not all agree for pro, neither, for eon; henee neither side won the game. Yet, the twelve men stumbled over a proposition, that six of them agreed to eonvict the rioters (?) and the other six agreed to prolong the ronviction of the rioters to some other times, wherefore, they agreed to disagree. Is'nt tbat so? Qoad for Lightfoot I lut, to bring tUe eons aqd pros to harmony, and everybody īnterestgd in the muddle, advise the men to break up the §tpike.
