Peaee, they &ay, is ever lovely, We m«6t cherish it through life, ()nly wicked men and traitōrs, Ever seek to etir up strife. But this peaee. eo mueh belauded, And of outward seeming fair, Is too often but oppreesion, Whieh the victims gilent bear. If we ean have peaee with freedom, In this space of mortal breath, Peaee is goōd, but peaee in serfdom, Gan beonlv living death. Ethnl Lothian.
