KE KILOHANA POOKELA NO KA LAHUI HAWAII.

 

Ke Koena o ka aoao mua.

            "I ka ike mua ana mai ia maua, holokiki aku lakou a pau i ka makau, a waiho neoneo ke alanui ma kuu wahi i kuu ai.  Aole i liuliu iho, a hoi ho@ mai lakou me na pahikaua, a me na ihe, e manao ana ie pepehi mai ia'@, alaila, lele hou ae la maua iluna, a pakele aku la.

            E oluolu paha oe e waiho aku i keia wahi ukana ma kou mau kowa, i ike mai ai na hoa o kaua, mai kela pea a keia pea.

            MA KEIA MEA I KAUMAHA NUI loa ai o Iakobo i kana keiki, a haehae iho la oia i kona aahu, a kau ae la i ke kapa inoino ma kona puhaka, a kanikau iho la oia i kana keiki a nui na la; ia wa, ku mai la kana mau keiki kane a pau, ame kana mau kaikamahine no hoi a pau e hoonana ai ia ia, a hoole mai la kela me ka na ole, a i aku la, "E kanikau ana no au a hiki aku ilalo o ka lua i kahi o kuu keiki i waiho ai me ka nele."  Pela i uwe mau ai kona makuakane ia ia.
