KAMAʻAINA FROM TEXAS HELPS OHA

Kama'aina from Texas Helps OHA Mr. Wayne Duncan, originally from E1 Paso, Texas and a kama'aina since the early forties, has donated mueh of his Hawaiiana library to the Office of Hawaiian Affairs. Mr. Duncan became familiar with OHA while he was a consultant working for a company at the Kawaiahao Plaza offices. He used to meet and talk with staff of OH A and seeing that the Office was new without being fully furnished, he and his wife decided to donate a good portion of their books on Hawaiian culture for use as references. Mr. Duncan said he has always wanted to live in the "South Seas" and having the opportunity during the war he eame over. He has even taken Hawaiian language classes at the University of Hawaii from Rev. Edward Kahale. M r. Duncan said that he has travelled all over the world and has meet a lot of niee people during his travels, but "the Hawaiian and part Hawaiian people - you can't find better friends."
