Kauaʻi Advisory Council

Members of the Kaua'i Advisory Council of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and interested agencies attended a seminar given by members of OHA's Honolulu Staff. Topics covered during the presentation were the Constitution and Statutory Provisions dealing with the Office of Hawaiian Affairs and an overview of OHA's Long Range Plan given by OHA's Administrative Assistant, Ben Henderson. Steve Kuna, OHA's Land Officer completely overwhelmed the audience with his presentation on Ceded Lands and the Section 5(f) Trust. No member of the Advisory Council left the Seminar without a total commitment to Hawaiian Rights after Mr. Kuna's extraordinary presentation. Kaua'i Advisory Council consists of 30 members of different ethnic, social and political backgrounds.

Though the topics of discussion were heavy, eouneil members still found something to smile about.
