Summer Vacations

Weleome back to returning staff who left to work on their yards, build new homes or to run away to far off places like Knotts Berry Farm, Las Vegas — Nevada, Maui, Canada and even Vanuatu. Most staff have been able to have an enjoyab!e break after the long legislative session whieh began in Fall of 1982. Mahalo plenty to our Cultural Affairs Officer, Bill Tagupa who gave name to the eolumn after surviving his attempt to find Vanuatu somewhere in the PaeiEie. A post card from Fiji sent by Bill began with "What happened?" as he discovered he was booked on a non-existent flight from Fiji to Vanuatu. He spent the next few days circling around Australia, New Caledonia and other islands before finding Port Vila, Vanuatu. He reports that it was better than staying at a hotel, at least they fed him meals. His adventures down under certainly earn him the coveted "Golden Cloak" award for this summer's best adventure, especially when he got to see all those countries. from the airports, for the price of a ticket to see only one.
