MORE KOKUA FOR LUNALILO HOME

by Moml Cazimero Ricketts Past President, Hawaiian Business/Professional Assn.

Last year, OHA made contact with the Hawaiian Business/ Professional Association for material contributions for Lunalilo Home. At the installation luneheon for the HBPA officers and directors, Joe Kanoa was asked for some leftover paint as he is also the Manager of Universal Paints. The new administration gave its approval to "adopt" Lunalilo Home, so besides our holiday painting this past November I9th, HBPA is planning a kupuna Fashion/Entertainment Show in July of this new year. Funds realized from this event will go towards augmenting the needs of Lunalilo Home. Members Scott May, A1 Kanahele, Walter Yim, Allen Wooddell, Roy Benham, Raynard Suganuma, Kathy Lau, Momi and Clint Cazimero and Riley Smith eame out to help paint,

scrape, and elean the premises, and meet the elders at Lunalilo Home. After the holidays, HBPA will embark on another painting project. There are two more rooms whieh need facelifting. All in all, members have improved their painting skills and are more than willing to teach newcomers. We have given a dowdy room a niee fresh look . . . graphics and all; made our Lunalilo Home kupuna happy; had a lot of fun, and after all the hard work, partied at the beach with the Hawaiian Jayeees. Good fun! lt is fitting that we express a "Mahalo Nui!" to Joe Kanoa who provided the paint and let everyone know that HBPA is committed to doing whatever it ean to assist the kupuna at Lunalilo Home.
