St. Andrew's Ceremonies Nov. 30

Hawaiian Language Mass for Kamehameha IV, Queen Emma

King Kamehameha IV and Queen Emma will have their names added lo the liturgical calendar of the Episcopal Church following action of delegates attending the General Convention in Anaheim, Calif., in early September. In observance of the proposal's passage, a Hawaiian language Mass based upon the translations of King Kamehameha IV will be held at 6 p.m., Saturday, Nov. 30, at St. Andrew's Cathedral. A feast or 'aha'aina will be held foilowing the Mass. Tickets are $10 for adults and $6.50 for children 12 and under. The 'aha 'aina will be held in Davis Hall where seating is

limited. Proceeds will be used to help the church's Hawaiian congregation. The evening service is an updated translation of the Book of Common Prayer service whieh the king translated. Special hymns in the Anglican tradition are being arranged for the occasion. The offering is being designated to the Iolani Guild whieh was established by Queen Emma. The service program will be printed in Hawaiian and English but Hawaiian will be the dominant language used during the Mass. Tickets ean be purchased from the St. Andrew's Hawaiian congregation and choir or from the Cathedral office.
