Hawaiian Community Alerted on Election

The Hawaiian community is reminded of the Office of Hawaiian Affairs Board of Trustees election on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 1986, the same day as this year's General Election. Only Hawaiians who are specially registered may vote in this election. You ean register to vote in the OHA Election if you are all of the following: • Of Hawaiian ancestry. • A resident of Hawaii. • A citizen of the United States. • Age 18 by Eleehon Day. If you are registered to vote in the OH A Eleehon, you are also eligible to vote in the: • Primary Election, Saturday, Sept. 20. • General Election, OHA Eleehon, Board of Education Election, Tuesday, Nov. 4. Deadlines for registration are Aug. 21 for the Primary and Oct. 6 for General, OHA and BOE. If you are not registered to vote, certain OHA staff members are deputized registrars and are ready to assist you. Call the Honolulu office at 548-8960.
