Hoʻoponopono Program Attracts Large Crowd

An updated ho'oponopono training program attracted 127 people, mostly Hawaiians, to Kahilu Town Hall in the Parker Ranch Shopping Center last Jan. 22. The special program featured native kahuna lapa'au Morrnah Simeona who is the developer and teacher of the new training program. Simeona, founder and director of the Foundation of I, is widely known in the method of ho'oponopono. Making right is a comprehensive approach to problem solving and conflict resolution within one's self, one's family, community and beyond. Simeona was joined on the program by Dr. Stanley Hew Len, a psychologist with extensive experienee in working with the developmentally disabled, criminally ill and their families. The applieation of the ho'oponopono process is central to his

work as a psychologist. According to Simeona, "The life force is of divine origin and healing is one of its sacred gifts." She has presented her teachings three times at the United Nations and has been invited to talk about her work to the World Health Organization in Geneva. She has been honored by the State of Hawaii as a "Living Treasure." The program was sponsored by Pu'ukohola Heiau National Historic Site whieh is headed by Superintendent Jerry Y. Shimoda. Pu'ukohola comes under the U.S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service. The next program will be on the Hawaiian flag with Patrick Ka'ano'i, entertainter and director of the Huna Hanauna Society. Date, time and loeation have not yet been firmed up.
