Bishop Museum Seeks Volunteer Summer Help

Outdoor lovers are needed for the Bishop Museum's summer natural history program for youth, "Life Freservers." Focus of this program is on endangered species and conservation of wildlife. Volunteers are needed to assist museum education staff with children of different ages. The week-long sessions this month are July 1115 (children ages 7-8); July 18-22 (ages 9-11); and July 25-29 (ages 12-14). Volunteers work 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. Field trips are scheduled to visit the museum, Hawaii Nature Center, Sea Life Park and Honolulu Zoo. What a great opportunity to share and expand your knowledge! Also, help the museum prepare for the Chinese Bicentennial celebration by volunteering to work with the On Char collection of photographic negatives. You'll describe and videotape the images under the supervision of the museum's Photograph Collection staff. Call 848-4180 to volunteer for these or other interesting museum tasks.
