Na Hoʻokama A Pauahi Fund For Post-High School Studies

Financial aid for Hawaiian students desiring to pursue their education beyond the high school level is available through "Na Ho'okama A Pauahi," the Kamehameha Schools Post-High School Scholarship and Counseling Program. The program provides supplemental financial assistance for eligible students pursuing undergraduate college studies and education after high school.

To be eligible, applicants must be of full or partHawaiian ancestry, be a graduate of a Hawai'i high school (No te: Kamehameha School graduates are ineligible for this program), demonstrate financial need, enroll fulltime in an accredited two or four-year college, business or vocational school in the State of Hawai'i.

Application forms are mailed to all high schools in Hawai'i and may be obtained from high school counselors and guidance teachers from January on. Forms are also available through most Hawaiian organizations, or from the Kamehameha Schools financial aid office. Priority deadline for the upcoming year is April 30, 1989. Applications will be accepted after that date, provided funds are available. Notification of scholarship award will be made by mid-summer.

In order to be considered, applications must contain the following: , • completed application form (be sure to sign and date it); • statement of goals form (be sure to answer every item); • financial aid form need analysis report (FAFNAR);

Na Ho'okama A Pauahi services also include: counseling guidance for attending college, vocational or technical schools in Hawai'i; information sessions on financial aid opportunities; and referral to student service programs at post-high school and training centers. At these centers students ean receive orientation to facilities, aeademic advising, tutoring and housing information.
