Computer center now testing for October program

The Hawai'i Computer Training Center (HICTC), an Alu Like, Ine. project, is in the process of testing applicants for admission into its ninth class, beginning in October. The center was established jointly by Alu Like, ine. and the IBM Corp. in October 1986. Testing will be conducted at the Center's facilities at 33 South King Street, Suite 300, in Honolulu every Friday from 7:45 a.m. to 1 p.m. and will be continued through September. Applicants will be tested in typing, math and English. The 15-week, tuition-free program runs from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily and will include: operation of the IBM PC-XT: DisplayWrite 3, Lotus 1-2-3, dBase III Plus, Cortez Peters typing, office procedures business math and English, pre-employ-ment preparation, and job placement assistance. Members of the Hawaiian community are encouraged to take advantage of this excellent opportunity to prepare themselves for employment in the business world.
