Punana Leo Benefit

The Punana Leo O Honolulu school is celebrating its sixth year with its annual benefit concert, "Ho'omau." Ho'omau translated literally means "to continue" whieh refers to the teaching and the use of the "immersion" method to renew the Hawaiian language. The proceeds from the concert are used to help support programs and to defray costs incurred by the school. Some of Hawai'i's top entertainers will perform at this very special event at the Waikiki Shell, June 9, at 6 p.m. Performers include: The Pandanus Club, Mana'o Company, Ho'okena, Gary Haleamau, Ke'alohi, special guest entertainers, and Na Keiki o Ka Punana Leo O Honolulu (the children of Punana Leo O Honolulu). The school gives island children a unique opportunity to experience the culture and heritage of Hawai'i.
