PROJECT DIRECTOR— NATIVE HAWAIIAN SOVEREIGNTY EDUCATION PROJECT ! i

General responsibitities The Project Director is the Administrator of the Native Hawaiian Sovereignty and Self-Determination Community Educaton Project, and is accountable to the Board of Directors of Hui Na'auao through its Executives Committee. The Project Director is specifically responsible for implementing Hui Na'auao policies, goals and objectives, and ensuring the eeonomieal and effective implementation of Project activities. The Project Director is responsible for promoting and coordinating the consensus building and other goals of the project. The Project Director is responsible for coordinating and developing Na Puwalu and with working with Board Planning Committees to develop the year-end Project Report. Duties 1. Supervision and direction of the day-to-day affairs of the Project. 2. Responsible for coordinating evaluation of all employees. 3. Responsible for efficient management of the office. This responsibility includes, but is not limited to coordination of staff work product, training, technical assistance, fiscal management, including but not limited to eomplianee with applicable regulations of funding sources, program budget and resource allocation. 4. Responsible for assuring achievement of the consensus building and other goals of the Project. 5. Responsible for working with the BoSrd Committee to

develop and assure the completion of the year-end Project Report. Qualifications: 1. Commitment to the Project goal of education on Sovereignty and Self-Determination. 2. Cultural sensitivity, and at least five years of work experience whieh evidences substantive familiarity with Native Hawaiian issues. 3. A Masters Degree or equivalent work experience in management level administration, fiscal oversight, and planning..Work experience shall be given greater weight. 1 4. A background of service and involvement whieh demonstrates familiarity with Kanaka Maolicommunitiesand their concerns. 5. Experience in producing educationa! materials. Other Qualities Desired: 1. Working knowledge of Kanaka Maoli language or must i be willing to take language ctasses. 2. Possessknowledgeofhis/hergenealogyorwi!Iingnessto research and become familiar with his/her genealogy. 3.
