UH receives gift

The Univ/ersity of Hawai i Foundation recently received $67,000 from the estate of Robert M. "Lokomaika'iokalani" Snakenburg. The endowment will support students in the graduate study of Hawaiian language at the University of Hawai'i. "Loko" Snakenberg was a dedicated advocate for the perpetuation of the Hawaiian ianguage and was actively involved in its revival. He founded the Hawaiian Studies program within the state Department of Education, through whieh he produced programs and materials to facilitate Hawaiian language study.
