"lndigenous Voices" a Hawai'i International Film Festival forum of native panelists, invites the public to a panel discussionon Friday, Dec.6,from lOa.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Forum at Ward Center (Diamond Head end of building, second floor.) This forum brings together Pacific Islanders and Native Americans to discuss empowernient through media, funding and educational opportunities, the national agenda for native communications, the importance of native participation and indigenous programs from an indigenous perspective. Confirmed panelists include Hawaiian independent filmmaker Meleanna Meyer, Hawaiian independent video producer and Pacific Islanders in Communications (PIC) board member Heather Giugni, PIC chair Marfha Carrell (Hawaiian/Chamorro), Maori filmmaker Barry Barclay, Native Americ.an filmmaker George Burdeau and Native American Public Broadcasting Consortia Executive Director Frank Blythe.
