Civil rights conference

The public is invited to attend "Civil Rights for ihe People of Hawai'i," a conference held Dec. 1011 at the Ilikai Hotel Pacific Ballroom. The conference is sponsored by the Hawai'i Civil Rights Commission, the Afro-American Lawyers Association, Na Loio No Na Kanaka (Lawyers for the People of Hawai'i) and the Commission on People with Disabilities. Workshop topics include: racism in Hawai'i; evolution of civil rights; rights of disabled persons; affirmative action; sex discrimination; labor and civil rights; mandatory drug testing; Native Hawaiian rights, and mueh more. A star panel of experts will be speaking. Registration fee for the two clays is $65. The conference runs from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days. Limited student and scholarship registrations available.
