Exhibit open Jan. 12

An exhibition, He Hawai'i Au, will open the Queen Emma Gallery's 1992 season, featuring loeal Hawaiian artist Meleanna Aluli Meyer. She will exhibit a drawing and mixed media collage. The opening reception is from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 12, in the main lobby of Queen's Medical Center, 1301 Punchbowl Street. The show chronicles Meyer's re-awakening and affirmation of her Hawaiian heritage. Inspired by recent visits to Kaho'olawe, Aotearoa and by her current studies in the Hawaiian language, Meyer shares with the viewer intimate reflections of Hawai'i and native issues.
