ʻImi Hoʻōla recruits pre-med students

Applications are now being accepted to the 'lmi Ho'ōla program of the John A. Burns School of Medicine, University of Hawai'i, Mānoa. 'Imi Ho'ōla ("Those who seek to heal)" is a one-year intensive pre-med curneulum designed to develop students into highly competitive applicants for admission to medieal school. Monii Kaanoi, Lee Bradlev , Ke\in Lum, Julie Marumoto, L\cidu Ragasa, Mary Lynn Ricardo, Vicente Roderick and Julie Won ol' Hawai'i; Charles Camacho and Cecilia Mangrobang of Guam, and Geraldine Rengiil (Rep. of Palau), Rathavy Sakbun (Cambodia) and Fumilayne Semes (Pohnpei State, Federated

States of Micronesia). Applicants must eome from a group underrepresented in medieine, eome from a socio-eco-nomically or educationally disadvantaged background, and possess a desire to serve in areas of need. A baccalaureate degree is highly desirable. Completed coursework must include biology, general chemistry, organic chemistry and physics. Priority is given to residents of Hawai'i and the Pacific Basin. Aid, scholarships, grants and loans are available through the University of Hawai'i on a limited basis.
