Sovereignty commission reschedules public meetings

The Hawaiian Sovereignty Advisory Commission has tentatively rescheduled to January a second round of public meetings originally planned for late November and early December. Commissioners held a first set of meetings in October and have been putting together the information they received from the people, and meeting in their eommittees (Education, Elections, Apportionment, Conventions and Visions). The commissioners are putting together an interim report for the upcoming legislative session whieh will be published in the centerfold of the main news section of the Honolulu Star-Bulletin and Advertiser on Wednesday, Dec. 8, 1993.

The commission encourages the public to read the report and to bring their mana'o to the second set of public informational meetings. The meetings will serve to educate and inform the public about what the commission will be reporting to the Legislature, and to receiving feedback from the community. Tentative dates and island loeations of the meetings are as follows: Tuesday, Jan. 11, 1994, 6:30 p.m. Moloka'i (location to be announced) Lāna'i (loeahon to be announced) Wednesday, Jan. 12, 1994, 6:30 p.m. Kaua'i — Waimea, Līhu'e and Anahola (locations to be announced) Thursday, Jan. 13, 1994, 6:30

p.m. Maui — Hana, Paukukalo, Makawao, Kihei (locations to be announced) Tuesday, Jan. 18, 1994, 6:30 p.m. Hawai'i — N. Kona, Waimea, Hilo, Ka'ū Wed„ Jan. 19, 1994, 6:30 p.m. O'ahu — Waimānalo, Kāne'ohe, Kahuku Thurs„ Jan. 20, 1994, 6:30 p.m. O'ahu — Nānākuli, Wai'anae, Waipāhu/Pearl City, Honolulu The commission will eonhnue to hold its working meetings on Saturdays. Tentative dates are Dec. 4, 11, and 18. Meetings are open to the public.
