Nothing to hide

Quilt designer John Serrao and June Miyasato pieee together quilt designs - some dating back to the 1920s - created by Althea's grandmother, Caroline Correa. They are doing this to prove that John Serrao did not copy any of these designs when he created his own patterns. The eouple is in a legal battle against Trans Pacific Textiles, who they accuse of copyright infringement involving 23 of Serrao's Hawaiian quilt patterns. OHA is supporting the eouple with a $30,000 loan to help cover legal costs. Photo by Patrick Johnston
