This month Kawaikaulā'au Aona-Ueoka is eonducting a series of lectures and hands-on workshops to teach the kapa-making art in Hawaiian homestead communities on f°ur islands. The first workshops on Kaua'i were held in ^ 8 A p r i 1 at Waimea and Anahola. Other workshops are planned in Hawaiian homestead eommunities: this month on O'ahu in Wai'anae and Nānākuli; in Waimānalo in July; on Maui in August, and on Moloka'i in October. She will teach the beginning basics of how to make Hawaiian kapa, sharing the knowledge, values and skills of the kūpuna. <1 Because class size is limited to 25 peri sons, advance registration is required. m There is a fee for supplies and tools.
