Native apprentice sculpting program moves to Big lsland

Nā Lehua Helele'i, an apprenticeship sculpting program under the direction of Rocky K. Jensen and funded in part by the Offīce of Hawaiian Affairs, announces its re!ocation to Studio 82, at Kīlauea Military Camp site, Volcano Naūonal Park. The Apnl 1995 issue of Ka Wai Ola O OHA described the program in detail. The unique art program has also been extended through October of 1996 and possibly beyond. It is now taking applications from native Hawaiian art students and professionals on the island of Hawai'i. Thanks to a small contribution from Mahalo Air, those apprentices on other islands who desire to travel to the island of Hawai'i on a onee a month basis for a three-day crash program, especially developed for off-islanders to take advantage of this opportunity. Please send portfolios and resumes to Nā Lehua Helele'i, Hale Nauā III, Society of Hawaiian Arts, P.O. Box 1047, Volcano, Hawai'i, 96785.
