Order of Ke Aliʻi Pauahi Medal awarded to Luryier Diamond

The Order of Ke Ali'i Pauahi Medal was awarded to Luryier "Pop" Diamond at the Kamehameha Schools commencement ceremonies on May 26. Diamond gave 43 years of dedication to Kamehameha Schools Bishop Estate. He spent over 30 years documenting student life in photographs and currently serves as the photo archivist. He has identified, reprinted and indexed over 300,000 images of Kamehameha's history. The Order of Ke Ali'i Pauahi, named in honor of

the schools' founder Bernice Pauahi Bishop, is the highest award given by Kamehameha Schools to individuals who have made significant contributions and provided outstanding service in furthering the purposes and programs of Kamehameha Schools. Other recipients of this award have been Mary Kawena Puku'i, Duke Kahanamoku, Rev. Abraham Akaka, Gladys Brandt, Edith Kanaka'ole, Daniel K. Akaka, Richard Lyman Jr., Daniel K. Inouye and Harriet Ellis Oana.
