Palace Guard

The palaee was the setting i Nov. 1 6 for the Posting of the i Royal Guard to commemorate i the 161st anniversary of the i birth of King David Kalākaua, i who built the palaee. After i inspection by Princess Abigail j Kawānanakoa and Maj. Gen. i Edward Richardson, the state i adjutant general, guard sentries i were posted to the four i entrances of the palaee. The Royal Guard was created in 1836 but was disbanded after the overthrow of Queen Lili'uokalani in 1893. It was revived by the Air National Guard in 1963.
