KANAKA MAOLI SOVEREIGNTY

If the kanaka maoli desire sovereignty then they should heed the advice of Ski Kwaitowski in the May Ka Wai Ola titledVOTE! Weneedtovote en masse like the plantations and unions used to do. We need to vote for individuals who will further the cause of Hawaiians and the four presently in the U.S. Congress DO NOT qualify for such consideration. What a statement the kanaka maoli would make if they were instmmental in the demise and dismantling of the

present structure: First by voting out of offīce these four; second, by replacing those in the state and city govemment with those sympathetic to the injustice Hawaiians have endured; third by electing budget-con-scious individuals; fourthly, by electing offtcials who serve only one or two terms, preferably only one. We must rise up and be counted. We must take matters into our own nonviolent hands. We must go to the polls on election day. And to ensure our destiny, we must vote out of office and out of our lives the bloodsuckers who would steal our birthright, forestall our heritage. Rise, Hawaiians, rise.
