i Progress at the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands' latcst development is in full-stride toward construction of buildings and infrastructure that will begin serving Hawaiian I elders as early as June. Funded in part by the Office of Hawaiian Affairs, the first rental I development ever on Hawaiian home lands will provide 85 units for those native Hawaiians | who are 62 or older; are on the DHHL waiting list; or who live in the Waimānalo homestead | community. Tennant selection is also based on ineome eligibility. | Phase I, comprising approximately half of the units, is scheduled for completion in June, with the halanee to be completed by December. The 6-acrc lot is located at 41-209 'Ilauhole St., next to a Kamehameha Schools pre-school !and Queen Lili'uokalani Children's Center site. both under construction.
