Aarona/Nakea/Kekaula — A family reunion of these three families will be held July 30-August 4. July 30August 2, we will tour the island of Kauai (our family origin) with Unele Henry Aarona and Auntie Aliee Helenihi, the youngest children of William Palupalu Aarona and Sarah Keelaumakani Kamaka, who are in their late 80s. Come and visit with us at Kaua'i Coconut Beach Resort in Kapa'a. Then on Aug. 3- 4, we will continue at Kaumakapili Church in Honolulu. Our ancsetors are: Kana (m) Kawa, two children, Nonohiaulu and Kailinaha (m) Nui from Waimea. Nonohiaulu (m)Kaikaina, six sons (Kaaiku, Kalakala, Palupalu, Aarona, Mainui and Nakiaha). Aarona, born 1828 on Kaua'i (m) Julia Kailimai Kapiko/Kaupiko, born Aug. 28, 1851 in Kohala, had six children , William Palupalu, Alfred, Cecelia Aloi, William Nakiaha, Samuel Nonohiaulu, and Julia Kanohokuahiwi. Cecilia (m) Robert K. Nakea, and Julia (m) Thomas K. Kekaula. Julia Kailimai's parents were Kalawai'amolowā'ole and Aloi from Kohala (m) Sept. 27, 1833, in Waimea, Hawai'i. Akau — The Akau 'ohana of Kawaihae is planning a reunion Aug. 25 at Sand Island Beach Park from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Ancestors are Abraham Akau, Amoe Kuahine, Kapeka kalahiki, Awaa Ako, Carrie Kaleleiki, Ah Sing Kimseu, Amoe Naeole, Allen Kim Seu and Annie Akeni Apeki.
