OHA will continue to register Hawaiians

Aloha kākoul History is repeating itselfl By this time, we should all know about the overthrow of the monar~ chy, Hawaiians, if you don't know, piek up a book and read about it, After 80 years of the Hawaiian Hom.es Commission ACT, created by Congress and 80 years of being a divided Nation; again the po'e haole (white people) are trying to take away the only two valuable assets we have left to our name: the Hawaiian Homes Commission Act and the 5(f) Section of the Hawai'i State Admissions Act, Oh yes, we still have our pride and dignity; and

we will survive, Mahalo a nui loa to all the people that participated in the Hawaiian Registry Project that started on the Prin.ce Kūhiō Day Celebrations, Prin.ce Kūhiō said 1/32 blood quan~ tum and Congress said, 50 percent, This was the beginn.in.g of a divided Nation, īt is ironic that on his birth~ day, we begin the Hawaiian Registry to re~unite our people, One race, one nation, me ke aloha pumehana no nā kamali'i - for the love of our children, We at OHA, hurried to meet the Kūhiō Day deadline and ī must

admit we did forget a few important items to complete the registration, For example: īn Hilo, we forgot the copy maehine to make copies of your birth certificates to verify that you are Hawaiian; we did not have the code to match the computer and the camera to take your picture; and we didn't even have the cards for your picture, At Kapi'olani Park, we had almost the same pilikia (problems) except we had the copy maehine, the codes for the comput~ er and camera to take your picture, At OHA, we have the audacity to say it was a huge success, Why was this a huge success? All

of you that eame to register, stood in the line so long, brought your source documents, and patiently filled up the application; is what made it a huge success, OHA is working on a time sched~ ule to continue the Hawaiian Registry, As soon as we figure out where we will go next, we will let you know, īn the meantime, if you are having a celebration, let us know and if it's ok, we will try to go to your celebration to register Hawaiians. Mahalo nui loa, a hui hou, ■
