Volunteers are being sought to serve as docents atthe Hawai'i State Art Museum, scheduled to open November 3. Located at One Capitol District, the former Hemmeter Building at the corner of Hotel and Richard Streets, the museum will be run by the State Foundation on Culture and the Arts. A one-month training course will eommenee in October for a number of positions: docents, who conduct tours of the exhibits; an education assistants; a gallery attendants; information kiosk attendants and special events assistants. This first ever state art museum will exhibit art from the state's eollection ranging from Native Hawaiian to Asian to contemporary. The museum was frinded in part by the Hawai'i State Legislature.
