NO KA ILINA / BURIAL NOTICE Kapala'alaea Ahupua'a All persons having infonnation conceniing umnarked burials present within TMK: (3) 7-7-08: 105 and 113 located in the Ahupua'a of Kapala'alaea 2, North Kona District, Island of Hawai'i, are hereby requested to contact Alan Haun, Haun & Associates, 808-982-7755, HCR 1 Box 4730, Kea'au, HI 96749; and/or Wendy Machado, Cultural Historian, State Historic Preservation Division (SHPD), 808-896-0475, 101 Aupuni St„ Suite 1014-C, Hilo, HI 96720. Treatment of the burials will occur in accordance with HRS, Chapter 6E. The landowner intends to preserve the burials in plaee, in accordance with a plan prepared in consultation with any identified descendants and with the approval of the Hawai'i Island Burial Council. All interested parties should respond within tliirty (30) days of this nohee and provide infonnation to SHPD adequately demonstrating lineal descent from the Native Hawaiian remains, or culhiral descent from ancestors buried in the same aliupua'a in wliieh the Native Hawaiian remains are buried. Family names associated with the property ahupua'a identified tlirough liistoric background research include Kalama, Kanewai, Keauikalima, Kaalia, Kaliiamoe, Hipuu, Naai, Haki, Puhi, Kaaipulu, Keoki and Kekaukali.
