"Observe with the eyes; work with the hands" (Puku'i, 2267) The purpose of this Hana Lima Scholarship is to give hnaneial assistance to students participating in a vocational or technical education program for occupations that ean provide a "living wage." Eligible programs include3 but are not limited to, carpentry and automotive technology., nursing3 medical assisting3 massage therapy., cosmetology and CDL training. Preference is given to non-traditional students: single parents3 disabled (meets ADA definition)., houseless3 sole-income providers3 pre\dously incarcerated and wards of ihe court. As an applicant, you must meet the foIIowing criteria: • Be of Native Hawaiian ancestry • Be a resident of the state of Hawai'i • Be enrolled at least halftime in a vocational degree or certification program (AS or AAS - Associates Degree) for ihe Spring 2010 term in one of ihe educational institutions in Hawai'i listed on our applieahon.
