The first meeting will be held: I Thursday, November 8, 201 2 I 6p.m.-8p.m. I Hawaii Community Development Authority Makai Conference Room The purpose of this meehng is to allow interested parties to leam more about reeent diseoveries of iwi kūpuna and give everyone an opportunity to share their views and coneems and ask questions. We are interested in hnding descendant families possibly afhliated wihi the discovered iwi kūpuna and any infonnahon that pertains to burials in hie Honolulu aliupua' a, especially along Halekauwila Street between Keawe and Ahui Streets. Infonnation related to hie recent archaeological work ean be found at www.HonoluluTransit.org/Planning. All iwi kūpuna found in huiial sites will be considered as previously identihed and treatment decisions will be made in consultation wihi the O' aliu Island Burial Council and lineal and culūiral descendants in accordance with the Hawai'i burial laws and admiihstrahve mles. Those with lineal hes to, cultural knowledge, eoneem or religious attaclnnent to cultural and/or lhstoric resources along the project aligmnent are encouraged to join the project's Nahve Hawaiian Outreach Program to stay infonned of upcoming meehngs and be provided wihi the latest project infonnahon.
