Two National Oeeanie and Atmospheric Administration advisory councils are seeking applicants to serve on their Native Hawaiian and other seats. Deadline to apply is Sept. 30. The Hawaiian Islands Humpback Whale National Marine Sanctuary is seeking to fill 10 primary seats and 14 alternate seats on its 53-member volunteer advisory eouneil for the following: commercial shipping, whale watching, oeean recreation, business/commerce, citizen-at-large, conservation, tourism, Eāna'i Island, Moloka'i Island, youth, Native Hawaiian, research, Honolulu County and Hawai'i County. Alternates attend meetings when primary members are not available and assume a seat if a primary member resigns.
