Holomua Ka Noʻeau concert

Hālau Mōhala 'Ilima will preview its program for the 51st annual Merrie Monarch Festival at a concert performanee 6 p.m. March 15 at Hawai'i Theatre. Kumu Hula Māpuana de Silva and dancers will share personal and eombined stories of their travels to the island of Kaua'i. With chant, mele, and hula they will share their experience of a visit to the ancient hula site of Keahualaka at Ke'e. Wāhine overall winners of the 2013 Merrie Monarch Festival, the hālau celebrates hula with an annual concert as a glimpse of what's to eome at the upcoming hula festival in Hilo. This year's concert, Holomua Ka No'eau, Maika'i Kaua'i i ka Mālie, will feature Kapua Sterling, representing the hālau in the upcoming Miss Aloha Hula eompetition, and her sister, Lilinoe Sterling, named Miss Aloha Hula in 2012.
