Q1. lstrongly support the payment of the State's debt to OHA, whieh enables fundina of 0HA's

manyimportant programs. Commercial development is already permitted on tlie 30 acres of Kaka'ako Makai land transferred to OHA. I do not support changing the law to allow residential development there, because high-rise condominiums would close off public access to

this oceanfront property. We should all do as mueh as we ean to preserve access to lands fronting our oeean, because so mueh development has already limited public enjoyment of our resources. I am open to considering a possible exchange of the Kaka'ako Makai property for a parcel of State land of eguivalent value. Q2 I support Native Hawaiian self-determination and support actions that advance discussions within the Native Hawaiian communities.
