Leam more about xeriscaping, a creative way to conserve water through efficient landscaping that results in lower water bills, at the Hālawa Xeriscape Garden Open House and Unthirsty Plant Sale. The free, family friendly event is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 1 at the 3-acre xeriscape garden, 99-1268 Iwaena St. in Hālawa Valley's Central Park Industrial Area. The day features sales of droughttolerant and native Hawaiian plants, free xeriscape workshops by master gardeners and botanical experts, a free compost giveaway, cactus display, keiki activities, guided garden tours, food and more.
